Privacy Policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
This policy explains what Call Lantern (operated by Steven Young, Oregon) collects when we answer calls for our clients, and how we use it. We keep it simple: we use call data to run the service, and we never sell it.
Who this covers
Our clients (the businesses that sign up), and people who call those businesses and reach Lantra.
What we collect
- From clients: business name, contact name, phone, email, website, hours, services, escalation numbers and settings from the signup form, and billing details (handled by Stripe; we do not store card numbers).
- From callers: phone number, caller ID name, what the caller says (name, address, reason for calling, callback details), call time and length.
- Recordings and transcripts of calls, and the AI-written call summary.
- Texts: recap texts to clients and, if the client enables it, confirmation texts to callers, sent through Twilio.
- Website: basic technical data (IP address, browser) processed by Cloudflare for security and delivery. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
To answer calls, send recaps to the client, book or request callbacks, improve call quality for that client, provide support, bill, and meet legal obligations. Caller information is shared with the business the caller called. We do not use one client's caller data for another client, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
Service providers
- Retell AI: voice AI, call handling, recordings and transcripts
- Twilio: phone numbers and text messages
- Cloudflare: website hosting, forms and security
- Stripe: payments
- Our email provider, to send recaps
They process data only to provide their services to us.
Retention
Recordings, transcripts and recaps are kept for 90 days by default, then deleted, unless the client asks for a different period or law requires longer. Client account and billing records are kept as long as needed for the account and for tax records. When a client cancels, we delete their call data within 30 days unless they ask for an export first.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and access is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure.
Your choices
Callers can ask the business they called, or us, to access or delete their information. Clients can request an export or deletion at any time. Text recipients can reply STOP to opt out. Residents of some states (for example California, Oregon, Washington) have additional rights, and we honor those requests.
Children
The service is for businesses and is not directed to children.
Changes
We will post updates here and email clients about material changes.
